Hi, this is just to start a new topic about our recent get together by Forum members! We all met up first at Stockeld Park, near Wetherby and then we eventually went on to visit the Follyfoot farm itself

Presently, I am writing up an account- along with photos- for Louise website and can include a few small snippets here for the forum!

If you were lucky enough to have attended this gathering, please feel free to add to this topic -if you weren't able to make it unfortunately

please feel free to add some questions

There is the likelyhood of a 40th get together planned for next year and this can be discussed as a seperate topic soon

bt no worries because there will likely be another chance for next year!

On this visit, there were about 15 of us including Jane Royston, Christine Saul-who also worked on the follyfoot set- her husband and Ray Knight.

I have to admit, it was a very good day, the weather was good, the company was happy and the food was tasty.

Welcome to the Forum, Michael!

I agree - it was a fantastic day, the weather was great, Stockeld Park was stunning and it was wonderful to meet up with you and so many other Follyfans! I just keep thinking about the wonderful staircase at Stockeld Park, handling Moggy's fragment of the Lightning Tree in the Harewood Arms - and of course the wallpaper! And Jane and Christine with their memories - plus the tantalising "it'll be in the book!" And being formally escorted from Harewood House gates to the Follyfoot barns!

Hi frm me too Michael! Yes apparently as we all knew on the day, the weather had been awful for several days up North bt on the 25th everything cleared away suddenly and it became a very bright, warm and sunny day

Hi to Moggy and Rob! Yes it was funny when the landlady of the Harewood Arms declared to us all that she liked laughter!

It wasnt the drink

-it was just a group of like-minded friends having a great time together!

Thanks Peter for your kind generosity in handing out the seperate pieces of the original Colonel's cottage wallpaper!

O.K. here are a few of Stockeld. I really enjoyed my visit here, especially the unexpected tour of the stables! We weren't supposed to see them but Loopy asked the lady very nicely if we could and she relented in the end! It was so nice to see them still intact even if only being used for storage.

It was a pleasure to meet those who went and it was a lot of fun. Hopefully more of you will be able to attend the 40th anniversary party next year

The fox weathervane resides directly above Steve's old barn and the sculpture is within the grounds of Stockeld Park.

25th August 2010 forum members meet up

I originally approached Jane about some of us meeting up at the farm and she suggested visiting Stockeld park too. So I rang around and fixed up the dates! Harewood Estate gave us the permission to visit the farm and to look around it etc.

I have just finished my written account. I will enclose lots of pictures with it too! S
