Your chance to nominate a Follyfoot site for Historic England!
« on: October 18, 2017, 08:22:44 PM »
I'm on the mailing list for Historic England.

They are currently asking members of the public to nominate places that they consider of historic or cultural interest. You can give details of the place, say why it should be recognised, and download a photo!

https://historicengland.org.uk/get-involved/100-places/

So here's your chance to nominate Hollin Hall, Gip's Steps, the site of Wetherby Railway Station, Stockeld Park or any other Follyfoot filming location!

I've nominated Hollin Hall!   :)
Long live Follyfoot!

Great idea LC  >41<

I've also nominated Hollin Hall  :)

I've also sent a second nomination for Stockeld park's white gates and pillared entrance. As that's where I first set eyes on Dora  >95<

I nominated Hollin Hall under "Music and Literature". After all, it was the location of the Lightning Tree, arguably the best TV theme song of all time, and even if 'Cobbler's Dream' predated the TV series, the subsequent books by Monica Dickens were presumably influenced by the farm's location and appearance. Monica Dickens was heavily involved with the series and of course was the great-granddaughter of one of the greatest English novelists.
