Louis or Leonard?    :-/

Although 'Luscious' is more appropriate.   ::)

It could stand? for 'lovely' 'luscious' or 'lustful'..... ;)

but ....it actually stands for 'Leslie'.

This fact came from his daughter who posted on the forum a couple of years ago.

His daughter's spelling of his name was with an 'n'......Steven Leslie Hodson...... 8-)

I don't know much about the history of spelling but I think it was an unusually modern spelling for the 40's. I would have expected it to be Stephen then.

Hi Sue

Interesting that she put an 'n' on the end.  I've only ever seen his name written as Steve.  I was beginning to think that maybe he was just Steve without an 'n'.  Not sure about history of name spelling either but Stephen is probably the more common spelling isn't it?   ;)

It is Stephen on his birth cert index. It is all quite legal for ?7.00 each i could order a copy of his birth and marriage cert . It is that easy they are sent to your home within five days. The hard bit is to id the correct person.  >18<  On a birth cert of 50years of age  or under you need the exact birth date to get a copy of a birth cert.  The national registers go back to June 1837. House Census to 1841. >11<

Hi Badger,

It is great that you have spent the time and effort to find out more information on Steve, which is always lovely to have but voice my concerns over actually posting the info from or the certificates on the forum.
We have always tried to uphold the policy of respecting the remaining cast's privacy.  It has been known in the past for the actors and their families to visit this site and we'd hate to upset them or give them any reason to think that the fans here are anything but respectful of their personal details and private lives.

best regards
Sue

Yes i agree with you Sue thats why i did not post the info. I have not sent for the copy certs which would comfirm my findings . The Birth and Marriage certs would both have his fathers name on them which would id the marriage 100%. So with out the certs one can not be sure if my research is correct.>48< so i will just say he may have married a lady called ? ********? ? somewhere in England? :-X . ::)

Thanks for confirming that, Pen.
It does seem quite likely that as in most families, Steve's middle name was a family name, his Dad's is the most obvious.

Leslie was quite a frequently used name for Steve's generation in Yorkshire at that time.
