Leeds - Liverpool Canal was on Channel 4 this evening with Timothy West and Prunella Scales - didn't spot it in time to put a post on the Forum:

 That's one location video I never managed to do on my motorbike  >104< I think a jet ski would have done the job  ::)

I can just imagine it - and the fury of people on canal boats as the jet ski throws water in their faces  >104<

I attended a work training course near Skipton today and am spending the night at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton. From my bedroom window I can see a barge on... the Leeds - Liverpool Canal!

...you wouldn't think that a photograph - essentially of a car park, out-buildings and refuse bins - could be so evocative; but there is something reassuringly warm and familiar at seeing the barge and knowing it is on the Leeds-Liverpool canal.   :)

It is easy to imagine somewhere, just beyond the trees, Ron, shoulders hunched and sitting astride his motorbike, saying:

"...old Hercules 'll be along that path in a moment!"    >315<
