You will have to fight your way to the loft room mjm! Had the worst day ever today and I am totally ready to move to that loft and never see anyone ever again! Except animals. I can provide a cat that can take care of the job of a dog as well, can you beat that?  ::)

Sorry to hear that, Anne! I think we should let you go first to the loft room!

And I'm sure someone said this is where Steve and Dora trained the "Standstill" horse. Am I right anyone?

Yes, I think you are right.  :)   They filmed more than I imagined at Hollin Hall.  The gypsy and tinker camps were filmed in the woods by the second lake and it was also there that Steve got caught in the trap.  Hollin Hall was easily accessible, out of the way of the public and must have been ideal for filming.  I was very surprised when Ray told me the quarry scene was filmed there too.

Thanks Loopy, I thought I hadn't imagined it. As you say, a lot seemed to be filmed around the farm and I was surprised about the quarry scene being there too.  :)

This is the hawthorn tree where Dora can be seen through the remains of an old hawthorn hedge, training Shadow.

I've taken this photo from Hollinhares walk.

This is the same hawthorn tree I took a photo of in August. As you can see it's now blown down  >47<

Another link with the FF era gone - amazing it stayed intact for 38 years and then blew down!

Great photos bt I agree with Rob strange how after all this time- the tree had  hardly ever changed- now has to blow over  :( :o  Cud it be propped up by wrapping rope and a stick around the bark? Bt maybe that wod rot the bark and attract insects etc  ::)

Good heavens some time I feel a bit like that myself Rob. Many of us old follyfooters will probably blow down ourselves before too long. Who will keep the dream alive then I wonder!  ;)
