If they are on the  point of collapse they might  want to get them off their hands. I wonder if planning permission for a house conversion may have been refused and that’s why nothing has been done?  Let’s be honest it’s well within commuting distance of Leeds so I cannot imagine there would  be a problem getting a buyer for a house site. Perhaps the owners of Castle Drakula next door have objected to further development? I must say that if I lived there I wouldn’t  want another house so close; no point in living in the country then.

Perhaps we ought to ask the Harewood Estate if they would be prepared to sell them, and then do a whip-round among the Follyfans? If planning permission was forthcoming and the barns could be restored, they could be a kind of FF timeshare?

I like that idea, Rob.

Yes, the only answer is for fans etc to set up a little 'company' and buy up the remaining farms (who knows maybe oneday someone cud buy up Hollin Hall or parts of it too) and let the place out for 'rich' commuters  ::)  bt also do it on the cheap for members who wish to stay there- when it's nt too busy etc  ::)  ;)

I like the idea of discount for FF forum members, Pete :), otherwise the whole project could be a non-starter!!! ;D Maybe £20 pp B&B with bacon and eggs? Evening meal stew for £3.95?

Yes that makes sense Dave. We could have a Slugger look-alike (come chef) who could cook up some stews etc for guests :D

;D yes bt it wod be a coup of course if we paid the original actors such as Gillian Blake and Steve Hodson to turn up and help out at the farm. Christian Rodska could arrive on his motorbike each morning  ;D

I don't know what the housing market is in the UK but if it's anything like it is in my part of the US then buying the FF site might not be too far out of reach-especially if we had a "whip round".

The biggest expense would probably be getting the place fit enough to pass all the government red tape.

Bags, I get the renovated loft room to live in... >44< After all we'll need someone to watch the place right?  I wouldn't need a salary and I can even supply 4 barn cats. >54< >55< >54< >55<

Unfortunately I´ve been a bit busy the last days, and couldn´t look in the forum.
But I want to say a belated thank you for posting the group picture of the follyfoot meet in August.
So many nice greetings, folly3.

Nice to hear from you again, Folly3!

Here are a couple more photos - these are the stables at Stockeld Park:

... and another shot of Follyfoot with Steve's old barn in the background...

You will have to fight your way to the loft room mjm! Had the worst day ever today and I am totally ready to move to that loft and never see anyone ever again! Except animals. I can provide a cat that can take care of the job of a dog as well, can you beat that?  ::)

Yes at the right price, I'm sure the farm and the Hall could be bought up! :)
