Aaaaw  :) I quite like the pep talk in Tim's Kite: a book for me to read  ;D
I probably could not read about the poor lonely donkey...  :( Does it have a happy ending Pete?

ha ha -poor old Ned the donkey!  :(  ;)

Well, in the end he happened to stroll across into a large private garden, whereupon he met a young boy called Timothy, who was also lonely  :) They befriended each other and Timothy was allowed to keep him. The end page shows Ned having a little chat with the magpie under the tree and telling him/her  ::)  all about his new friend and that he is not lonely anymore!  :)

As a child, I used to love this book and my mum would read it to me -eventually I read it myself  ::)

Yes, you are quite right because the latest versions I believe have been politically corrected! I love the pictures in this book-may fish out a few out later perhaps  ::)
