Hollin hall owners.
« on: November 15, 2018, 01:50:16 PM »
Just wondering, has anyone ever met the owners of Hollin hall?. Were they ever Follyfoot fans?. How lucky they are to own such a lovely and well loved place. Although it might not have come easy to them. Hope they love it as much as all of us. Just wondering.  >18<
Will you come back.?

I seem to remember from a while back (unless I've got this totally wrong  :-[ ) that Sabrina paid a visit to the area a year or so ago and she was with her husband standing near the lake when a man walking a dog started talking to them. Apparently he was the owner of Hollin hall. He said he was a solicitor and by coincidence that's what Sabrina's husband is and they got talking. Sabrina did say he was a very pleasant man.
I also believe on the 40th anniversary meet up that Gillian Blake, Steve Hodson, Jane Royston and one or two others were taken to Hollin hall and shown around by the present owners, the fans that were there for the meet up were excluded from the visit  :(

I wonder if the following helps:

We met a man walking his dog who turned out to be the owner of Hollin Hall...and works in the same industry as Mr Sabrina...

The "solicitor and his two daughters" - I wonder if this refers to the present owners or their predecessors, the Beecrofts?

...Hollinhare?

Hi Pete2013,

It must be the Beecrofts, which would explain them thinking it was strange watching their house on TV as this article proves it was repeated in the 70's!

Hi Tony

The fans visited the following day and the owner was very pleasant and showed us around.  It would have been special to have been there with Steve, Gillian and Jane though!    :(

Hi Loopy

That was good of the owners to let everyone have a look around the following day, I wasn't aware of that >41< I agree it would have been better to be there with Gillian, Steve and Jane. I still kick myself I missed the visit  :(

It does seem a shame that they don’t have that extra reason to love their home.

When we spoke to the owners on our visit they weren't fans.  >48<
Cheers,

...the owners...weren't fans.  >48<

I suppose this is as definitive an answer as you can get.   :)

Although not what we may have hoped (or expected) to hear - it is strangely refreshing because so many of the answers to questions about Follyfoot leave us still wondering.   >24<

Following on from the opening question - I wonder if anyone knows or formed an impression as to how the owners of Stockeld Park felt about the serial...    >367<

All the more credit to the owners -     >107<    - for showing members around!      :)
