hello from Robert in Dundee
« on: February 24, 2017, 01:08:43 AM »
I have just rediscovered Follyfoot   I remember watching it on STV  in 1973  , I lived in Linwood Renfrewshire which was near the country side   always liked horses  and this program was one of my all time favourites  have just got the DVD box set and found out about this site and have got the book Follyfoot remembered , I stil have a book about Dora  and a follyfoot annual I got back in the 70s.

Welcome Robert, I haven't been on the  forum myself for a while, but I always come back. You'll love it here it's like going back in time. Just open the gate to Follyfoot and walk right in. It'll bring back so many memories you'll feel like you've gone back to the 70.s.  >75<
Will you come back.?

Just finished watching the DVDs  amazing seeing Folyfoot again and in colour !  a lot the early series  I had not sean and its the first time since 1989 ? the last time STV repeated it I found by chance on Sunday morning.

I have now started reading the Follyfoot  remembered book   and planning to buy some more of the books . I still have a Follyfoot book I bought at school  they had a book club where you could order books , I also have a Follyfoot Annual  and so going to get some more from Ebay.

seeing the pictures on hear of Hollin Hall   I would love to go for a holiday and stay in the Harefeild arms pub as they do B&B  and do the walk to see the area that would be amazing .

Go for it Robert it's great to be there  >41< The Harewood arms pub is the closest B&B to Hollin hall. You can walk from there.

Yes, I would absolutely recommend you doing it Robert.  When we ate at the Harewood Arms a few years ago it was good food!

at the week end I was down in Yorkshire , Pontefract for a space lecture with a shuttle astronaut  , I discovered that our hotel was only 16 miles from Hollin Hall  So I got my friend Richard to take me in his car for a run  it was a kind of wet and misty morning we got kind of lost but the first thing I recognised was the old petrol pump  we found the A61 road but because it was a private road did not drive in , we passed the bridel way so when I go back I know where it is , we stopped a long the road from the farm and we could see what looked like the back of Hollin Hall in the distance  along the road we passed the Harewood Arms and could not believe it  we found the village hall where Ron took Dora to the dance ! and round the back there was a café opened and we went in for a coffee !
