Follyfoot websites being hacked
« on: January 17, 2017, 10:01:57 PM »
Hi everyone, as you'll be aware we've been targetted heavily by hackers in the last few months. The fan site is particularly vulnerable as it is running Joomla! open source software. Both our sites are hosted in the one folder, which means one can infect the other.  I've now (sigh) signed up for a security monitoring service on the fan site. This is an annual cost of around £85 a year. I'm hoping that by keeping the wretches out of the fan site I can protect this one too without a repeat of the cost. I'm not financial enough, especially this time of year, to cover that.

Anyway, if you would like to help out and donate a fiver towards the security monitoring service and keeping our sites online, please send me a PM and I can give you my PayPal details.  :)
Cheers,
Sabrina

FINALLY ... I hope we are hacker free on this site and the fan site. I've paid for a security company to monitor both of them and cleanse them every time a hacker gets in - if they make it in.  Thanks for all your patience everyone, and welcome back!  :D :D :D
Cheers,
Sabrina

Thanks everyone  :). An update - I get daily reports from the monitoring service and hackers have tried to get into both sites several times, so it's been worth protecting them. We'd have been offline again by now for sure!
Cheers,
Sabrina

I doubt it, Loopy. These are little robot bits of code designed to attack and attack.  >:( :(

Well, the chance to place their horrible links to their annoying websites in the hope you'll buy (probably fake) pills from them for the most part. Or explicit p*rn sites.  >:(

For the past two weeks I've thought the forum had been hacked again as I could get it to load and it appeared to be a similar problem as before.  >:(

I've now discovered it's my PC as it's ten years old and my son said it's 'past it'.  >36<

So I'm now on a laptop don't know if I like it  >410< but a least it works  >116<

I haven't been able to get on as, I've now found out, AVG have quarantined the site.  I'm now having to use my phone!  It's gonna drive me mad!
