Here's the back cover, also with "Paul". I think I might have posted these before, so apologies if I have.

Paul looks a bit "vulnerable" there.

I remember Robin Stewart well from Bless This House, and I can certainly picture him playing 'Paul'. I think he might have been very good actually. The picture hints at the emotional range he may have had, and they say if you can do comedy well you can do anything.

But we'll never know, thanks to the 'reliability issues'. Apparently Sid James was particularly exasperated by him? :)

Robin Stewart was certainly "a looker" - but just didn't have the "something" that our Steve has!

Hellie :)

What will be, will be... and it was certainly meant to be Steve in that part!   8-)

Do we know if Network enquired after this pilot episode when they were assembling the material for the DVD?

I can't recall anything being said here that they did. Nik has obviously made enquiries and didn't have any success, this is what he said in another thread

I did enquire with ITV/Yorkshire a couple of years ago as to the existance of this episode.
Although I can't be 100% sure, according to information recieved, it no-longer exist in the archives,

You did see right, marshall.

It is Robin Stewart.  As explain somewhere here....he did get the part originally but was replaced with Steve Hodson before any episodes were aired. Don't know how many episodes made it to the can as they say, or if there was a pilot episode. Maybe the forthcoming book will give us some answers.

Sorry if i'm repeating myself here. ::)....we have quite a few new members who may not yet have discovered the old posts and threads!

I'm not sure Robin would still be having the affect on us follyfillies as Steve still does, if he'd remained in Follyfoot.

He certainly didn't/doesn't 'do it' for me!! ::)  I'm so glad that he turned out to be unsuitable and Steve was given the part.

Steve forever!!!!

Sue

He does (did) nothing for me... he's not a patch on Steve.

Nah he does nothing for me either, but Sally Geeson bottom left of the group shot was and is still quite cute... ::)
