The Music- how amazing was it!
« on: September 08, 2009, 01:12:56 PM »
I guess it only when I really am feeling my emotions, that I notice how good the music of Follyfoot was throughout  the series.
At times, alongside the acting, and stories, it give's me a real lump in my throat. It was was a really amazing soundtrack and carry's the scene along.

The follyfoot music brings a lump to my throat in sad scenes too?  >47<
And some of the music makes me emotional in a happy, nostalgic sort of way, if that makes sense? :)

I purchased one of the LPs from e-bay earlier in the year, paying £20 for it.
I know of another member here, who got a copy for a bargain price of £1.50......grrrrrrrr! :) ::)

It's a brilliant piece of work, and I play it alot!  :)

Yes, the music is brilliant and I listen to it a lot.  Keep your eyes peeled on e-bay - the LP does come up now and again.   ::)

I just wish they could have re-released the soundtrack on CD to go along with the  program DVDs.  Alas my turntable no longer works >47<

Maybe after the push to get the DVD released we now should campaign for a the music to come out on CD. I guess we could start with who has the rights to it.

I love having the LP though.  It's so nostalgic and has a lovely picture of Dora and Steve on the cover.    :)

I don't know very much about classical music, so was the music old classical pieces or specially written for Follyfoot - if so who is the composer?. BTW, I've just been using software to transfer vinyl to CD and was surprised how good the quality is.

One of the things I was lucky enough to collect at the time was some of the original artwork for the LP. By a bizarre coincidence one of my schoolfriends had a job at the record company which handled York Records, and when they were clearing out this was one of the items which came my way. The original lettering overlay together with the initialled final proofs of the front cover.
