Glad I saw it before it was demolished, such a shame.

Thanks MZ, I've had a go at that link as it wasn't working for some reason LINK HERE

Well out of my price range. If I bought it I'd rebuild the forge!

I can't see the pump in their photos.  >48<  Maybe it's the angle or they've photo-shopped it out, or it's been chucked in a skip  >:(   I hope it went/goes to a good home.....

Hi  of course you can use the photos for the website & the petrol pump is most definitely still there (for now!) I see Fine & Country are plugging the proximity of the Grammar school in their property details so I can imagine who's going to end up living there, I shall enjoy annoying them from time to time by making pilgrimages & taking photos of the crime scene!!  >118<  >103<

The forge door 2013 (you can still see the horseshoe on the back just as it was in Loopys screencaps)

Looking through the door into the forge 2013

from the back window looking through the forge to the horseshoe door 2013

the sign on the wall says 'pump switch here'

Thanks for reposting the link ... for some reason/glitch, my ISP wouldn't let me copy 'live' links last night, so had to resort to a copy and paste system. >103< >103< >103<

Thanks Loopy and Hollinhare for the photos. That horseshoe would have made a Follyfoot souvenir.

  >41<  It definitely would have Dave or maybe the whole door  :D

The forge didn't look that run down in Hollinhare's 2010 pictures compared to the 2013 picture. The roof would have had to be replaced but not a major job, the rest of the structure looked pretty sound, well compared to the cottage  ::) The timber doors were also in pretty good condition considering their age.
Shame it was knocked down as it was probably salvageable  >:(
It may have been left to become overgrow in the last few years to make it look worse than it was prior to demolition  >96<
I agree with Hollinhare, Another triumph of greed over respect for history  >:(
