What a great idea.... if you're brave enough   ::)

Yes the roof does look a bit dubious  >104<

I'm a bit late spotting this, but really interesting  to watch this -although I have not had time to see all of them throughout -just skipped a few 'frames' on one or two links but really interesting. Good post Tony  >39<

Mr Loopy and I actually looked into it years ago but it wasn't to be... the owners didn't want to sell.   >47<

I can't find any reference on t'internet at the mo but there was a list of planning decisions on our parish notice board last week, one of which said permission had been granted to demolish Forge Cottage in Wike & replace with a new building, I assume that is the derelict cottage next to the forge itself, I'll have another search tomorrow when I'm more conscious!

I've just found some info but it doesn't look good!

https://publicaccess.leeds.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=NAYS6JJB17S00

The last document by the West Yorkshire Archaeological Service on October 14th says at the end...  'The application site is located in an area of known archaeological potential while there is some
evidence to suggest that both The Old Forge and Forge Cottage originate in the 18th century.
These non-designated heritage assets will be destroyed by the proposed development.'

Interestingly, although the proposal is to demolish the forge building, the petrol pump is to be retained and relocated a few yards away.
