SEARS (Taken from Collins Scrabble Dictionary).... isn't it a cullinary expression, to brown the outside of a piece of meat for example (Guess who has to sit through Masterchef/Great British Bake Off, etc etc...)

My own solving of the puzzle went....

As you can see I had to frequently change more letters than Pete did... but the advice is good all the same.
