Is the farm open?
« on: December 04, 2013, 02:10:14 PM »
Can you tell me if the Follyfoot farm is open for a visit? I would like to see it for real. It will be nice if Follyfoot fans will meet there for 45 or 50 years anniversary, especially with Dora and Steve :)

I'm afraid the farm is no longer recognisable.  The owners have changed the house beyond recognition and they have now pulled the barns down too.   >47<

What you will recognise though, is the surroundings and, of course, the lakes which are pretty much the same as they were.  There is a public footpath past the lakes and up into the woods.  ;)

The atmosphere is still enchanting.   >41<

Some of the barns are still standing, but sadly a few years ago one of the main barns was knocked down. Unless they have pulled more down that I haven't heard about  :o  >389<

As Loopy says, you can wander down the Public Footpaths and soak up the atmosphere by the lakes.   >116<

No sadly not  :( It was removed when Yorkshire TV had finished filming I think.

We thought we had found the remains of it in a nearby field when there was a forum get together at the farm. Jane Royston (horse manager) tried to find out about it but drew a blank.

You can read about it HERE at the bottom of the page :)

No, and it is still a magical place to visit.  The atmosphere is very special.

Went for a visit for first time last year in the summer. Lots has changed, but still magical to stand by the lake and remember things from the series. Then walk up the hill and look down at the lake and farm.
Will definitely visit again. Even had a drink and meal at the Harewood Arms :D

The first time is always the most special webby but you'll still enjoy visiting again.   >95<
