Follyfoot to be republished!
« on: March 09, 2010, 01:23:54 PM »
I've heard through the grapevine that Follyfoot is to be republished in July 2010!

I think that's brilliant, as a new generation will discover Follyfoot

You can order it on Amazon by clicking HERE

I think it's a nice cover. Much better than the 1990 versions anyway  :)

How fantastic! It'd be nice to think that our forum and Louise's fansite has helped rekindle interest in republishing it. I should think releasing the series on DVD has raised an interest in the books too.  :)

That's excellent news. Looking at Amazon, it seems to be just Follyfoot at present - no Cobbler's Dream or later Follyfoot books - but maybe they'll come if this one sells well. Maybe it will even lead to the series getting another airing on TV - with the missing scenes restored!

Looking at Monica Dickens on Amazon, I noticed some used copies of the World's End books for sale - I just know I'm going to end up buying them at some point.

That's really exciting Suzy.  There seems to be an awful lot of interest in Follyfoot again and surely it's down to Louise's website and this Forum.  Long may it continue.   >6<

I really like the new book cover too.   >41<

That is brilliant news!! >1<

From my library work i know there are a lot of young readers, mainly girls, who love horse and pony stories so this will hopefully bring Follyfoot to a new generation.

I will certainly try to persuade my libraries to purchase at least one copy(council budget allowing!!! ::) ) and recommend it to younger and older readers alike.

That sounds very good to me!!!
I like the new cover, the horse on it is pretty and the new painted follyfoot sign connects our beloved 70years series with a modern nowadays book!
Many nice greetings, folly3.

If a new book potentially brings new, younger fans to follyfoot, then what would a new modern Follyfoot series do? ::)

Just noticed the re-published follyfoot book due out in July is much cheaper to pre-order now on amazon at £3.74, if anyone wants to buy it.  :)

I'm surprised they left it so long.   :)

The new follyfoot book is out now and this link might be of interest. There is a quiz and a good review about it.

I wonder who's running that Follyfootbooks site? There's no contact info there that I can see - usually a publisher would put that info somewhere on the site; nice to see that it links to Louise's site though.
Cheers,
Sabrina

Hi Sabrina

It's Anderson Press who have published the book.

Yes I was pleased to see they put a link to Louises website.

And I have a feeling they used my Monica Dickens article from Louise's site  ;)

I got my copy on Saturday and it's a nice chunky paperback. I'd have prefered a hardback with illustrations but I doubt that will happen these days due to cost. At least it has been republished and let's hope they publish the rest of the series now.  :)
