A nice find Sue.

Would you like to convert the book into "Cash in the Attic"?

The cover looks in good condition, and if it's a first edition I can offer £30 for this book. :)

It's happens to be in excellent condition, Dave. Unread  :)

Nice find Sue.  :) I'd loved to have seen your face when you set eyes on it. I bet you wish Steve had been hiding up there all those years too  ;D

I won't bother rushing up to my attic in the hope of finding anything. Nothing in it apart from a few spiders  ::)

Sue
 :)

An amendment to this, as was pointed out to me (thanks Jane   :) ) the Deans edition was published in 1991!  Sorry a senior moment..read the original publishing dates ::)

How embarassing to be corrected and I, a librarian and bookseller for over 30 years!!! :-[

That's great Sue.  8-)  Fancy it's been under your roof all this time!  I think you should go up and have a good clear out now... who knows what you'll find!   ;)

I have a copy of this book too, I bought it locally from a charity stall.   :)

I bought New Arrival At Follyfoot thinking it was a new one I hadn't heard of only to find it was Cobbler's Dream by another name... >:( How stupid do I feel! :-[ I have been caught out three times now by books under different names. Teach me not to check things out more carefully I suppose!  ::)

Hi Sharon

It's very annoying isn't it - why do they change the name of books?   >7<

I agree Loopy....I've been caught out with name changes a few times, >38< especially if it's a charity shop find and you can't rush home and do any research first otherwise someone might buy the thing before you get back!  ::)

I recently got a copy of "Are You Being Served?" by Richard Webber, David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd (Orion Books, 1998).

The book tells the history of the famous BBC sitcom set in Grace Brothers' department store, and its sequel, "Grace and Favour".

There is quite a long section on Arthur English, with a few photos, and also a photo and short biography of Brenda Cowling (Lady Caroline Beck in FF), who appeared as a shop customer in one episode of AYBS.

It mentions that both actors appeared in FF but doesn't say anything else about the series.

People who don't like cats were probably mice in an earlier life.

That's interesting Rob. I'm glad they mentioned the Follyfoot link   :)
