Motormouse's Hollin Hall visit
« on: September 10, 2012, 07:26:09 PM »
Well I finally made it to Hollin Hall on Sunday with a lot of advice from Holllinhare, Hollinhare walk is well worth doing although I only walked to Hollin Hall and back, I took a few of photos, but I did not take any close up photos of Holling Hall as it seemed a bit intrusive.

Unfortunately I got a bit lost and strayed off the path a bit.

And another photo, as you can see there were a lot of cows, they did not seem too botherd about me, until I was sitting by the lake when one cow seem to be very interested in me and came up and stood about 4 feet away and seem quite fascinated, not the type of female I like to attract,

I was lucky I had a nice day and the ground was dry and not muddy, it is well worth the visit, it did not seem as big as it looked on the series, and I was surprised how hilly the ground was.

Great photos Motormouse! The sun shone for you & you escaped the cows unscathed! Isn't it strange how all us forum members seem to have a terrible sense of direction & stumble off the public footpath on a regular basis? ::) ;D

Fantastic!  >39<

I'm so pleased you've finally been and you had good weather. I see you found the magical second lake  ;)

The top barn at Hollin Hall seems to be in a good state of repair, with the roof looking quite sound, so it it stops the rain getting in it should remain standing for a good while yet, it is a pity it is fenced off by a low fence you can't get right up to the building any more which is a shame.

It is a shame it's all fenced off now.  :(

At least the lakes are untouched  :)

Thanks for posting the pics of the FF territory here!
It´s so nice and familiar to see the beloved places of the series.
And besides I love the picture with Steve and Dora walking down the meadow!
Many nice greetings, folly3.

Thanks Folly3, it was great to actually see the place where it was all filmed, it has not changed that much in 40 years.

Glad you got there are nice to see that the long barn is still standing - and that you can still get to the little lake!
