New Song Game
« on: June 30, 2012, 12:29:40 AM »
In this game you have to find the connection between three songs. It could be in the title (T), in the lyrics (L) or something else they have in common (X). I will supply the names of the artists and you have to find the songs…

Examples:

Coldplay / Dawn / Christie (T)
The answer is “Yellow” – all three artists have had songs with “Yellow” in the title – “Yellow” by Coldplay, “Tie a Yellow Ribbon” by Dawn and “Yellow River” by Christie.

Hollies / Chi-Lites / Frankie Valli (L)
All have had songs referring to a boy carrying a girl’s books or satchel to school for her - the songs are “Jennifer Eccles” by the Hollies, “Homely Girl” by the Chi-Lites and “My Eyes Adored You” by Frankie Valli.

Wings / Shirley Bassey / Sheena Easton (X)
All sang James Bond themes: “Live and Let Die” by Wings, “Diamonds are Forever” by Shirley Bassey and “For your eyes only” by Sheena Easton.

So try these:

1. Settlers / Dawn / Mel Smith & Kim Wilde (T)
TREE - Lightning Tree / Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the Old Oak Tree / Rockin' around the Christmas Tree
2. Eagles / Elvis Presley / Mike Batt (T)
HOTEL - CALIFORNIA (Eagles); HEARTBREAK HOTEL (PRESLEY); RAILWAY HOTEL (Mike Batt)
3. Jennifer Rush / Huey Lewis & the News / Frankie goes to Hollywood (T)
THE POWER OF LOVE - each artist has had a different hit song with this title
4. New Edition / Sammy Davis Jnr / Bow Wow Wow (T)
CANDY: Candy Girl (New Edition); Candy Man (Sammy Davis Jnr); I Want Candy (Bow Wow Wow)
5. Status Quo / Elvis Costello / Andy Cameron (T)
ARMY - You're in the Army Now (Status Quo); Oliver's Army (Elvis Costello); Ali's Tartan Army (Andy Cameron)
6. Monkees / Electric Light Orchestra / Johnny Duncan & the Bluegrass Boys (T)
LAST TRAIN TO... CLARKSVILLE (Monkees); LONDON (ELO) and SAN FERNANDO (Johnny Duncan)
7. Madonna / Paul Anka / Alvin Stardust (L)

8. Eiffel 65 / Chelsea Football Team / Elton John (T)
BLUE by Eiffel 65, BLUE IS THE COLOUR by Chelsea Football Team and BLUE EYES by Elton John...
9. Mott the Hoople / Lily Allen / Chas & Dave (L)

10. Charles Aznavour / Simon Park Orchestra / Rod Stewart (X)
All had Number One hits that were also TV themes - SHE (Aznavour), EYE LEVEL (Simon Park Orchestra) and SAILING (Rod Stewart)
Best of luck!  ;)
