Yes it is a shame Loopy, does anyone know who the owner of the forge actually is.

Hollinhare was trying to find out for me but I'm not sure it's easy.  I think she said he was extremely rich and didn't need to sell it so won't!  >:(

Is that right Hollinhare?  ???

Well if he has pots of money, why does he not spend any money on it, if the building is listed he is probably waiting for it to fall down so he can use the land for something else.

There's a lovely cottage there too.  It could have been a wonderful property.  >47<

Agree - it's a gorgeous property. We need a rich benefactor to buy it from him so we can all use it as a Follyfoot Forum members' retreat (or HQ!)
Cheers,
Sabrina

Sorry, I've only just caught up with this as my computer died  >36< & I've just got a new one which is going to behave immaculately or else...  >37< I still don't know who owns the Forge but I'm keeping a close eye on planning applications... I still think one of us has to win the lottery & turn it into a Follyholiday home/retreat/refuge!

Just want to say thank you to Hollinhare for the map and details for the walk round the Harewood estate and Hollin Hall. me and my wife Sonia had a great time and began and ended with drinks and food at the Harewood Arms :).
We will be doing the trip again soon and exploring some of the other locations that we didn't get to :D

Thanks again, highly recommended
