Hi
I was/am a Follyfoot Tragic!  My Sundays were spent at Pony Club (cadging rides where I could because I could never afford a horse) then home to watch Follyfoot and then for a few lovely weeks A Taste of Blue Ribbons.
I cut all the episode synopsis' out of the TV magazine and stuck them in a book and added some of my own.
About 12 years ago I helped a guy called Dave with a very early site about Follyfoot and sent him the information I had.
I harrassed my family to buy me all the books and the annuals and I loved them.
Of course, like most other young girls I was in love with Steve!
For years I tried to get the episodes and even tried to convince Yorkshire Television I wanted to buy them for educational purposes (and I was an Educator at the time).  I paid a fortune for that first Video and made some friends along the way on Ebay with other Follyfoot fans.
I cry when I watch those episodes still.....
I realised that we didn't see all of those episodes in South Australia so there were some that were new to me.  I recall being absolutely distraught when the last episode was broadcast here.  I don't think any other television program quite touched me in the same way and it's probably one of the reasons why I still 'rescue' animals and why I kept my horses and actively fought against them being put down because they were old as the co owners wanted to do.

Hi Deanne,

Clearly you are a proper Follyfoot fan. Its always good to have new members discover this forum who also had the Follyfoot experience.

In my case it was Dora of course, but the animal welfare has been with me ever since too.

A very warm welcome. :)

Hi Deanne and welcome!  (How nice to find someone else who remembers A Taste for Blue Ribbons too!  :) Top quality Aussie 1970s horsey drama for those who have never heard of it)
Hope you still have all your annuals etc  :) :)  - you're luckier than I, I didn't realise they existed at the time!
Cheers,
Sabrina

It was a lovely series, . Mid 70s. Family with champion show horse/show jumper (I forget) falls on hard times and has to sell champion horse Comedy. Female lead (Dora's age) distraught but then a foal is born, with a deformed leg. He has an extra hoof on one leg. He should be put down by rights, but a vet operates and he grows up to greatness. I forget exactly what though... I think he may have been a racehorse. Nothing on YouTube but something on it here at this excellent forum:  ;) http://ponybooks.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ponybooks&action=display&thread=1383  The tv series was very true to the book (which I still have somewhere at my Mum's house).
Cheers,
Sabrina
